I finished this the other night. I think it was a fine book overall but it won't be going on my recommended reading list. I didn't find that I could identify with any of the characters. It failed to emotionally grip me until Dash revealed his secret. I enjoyed the story of Roz falling in love with Jack and out of love with Paul. In some respects, she embraced her inner independent woman and just did what she wanted, giving into curiosity and desire. She ignored the labels "wife" and "mother". I wasn't convinced at the time that she was in love with Jack though. Perhaps she was in love with the idea of someone new and someone less smothering. It did seem to work out for Jack and her.
On another note, did anyone else want to know what Electric Forgiveness looked like? Does that position include a disco ball??
We are a book club in the Raleigh, NC area that meets monthly. We read a wide variety of books, love politics and trashy celebrity gossip equally, and occasionally watch non-intellectual Thursday night television during our meetings.
